Gorgie
These are two bars in this area of the city. The bars have kept open after many closed. Closures were blamed on the smoking ban. The die-hards have to remove themselves outside as can be seen in the bottom photograph.

New Town
This is part of Edinburgh's 'New Town'. It is characterised by long facades of neo-classical and Georgian architecture. The 'New Town' is a bit of a misnomer as the area was built in the late 18th to mid 19th century. They are cavernous inside but have a hefty price tag.

The Meadows
The Meadows is an area of greenery just to the south of the city centre. It is crisscrossed by a number of paths and this is one of them. This is a tree-lined one with the trees at this early point in spring waiting to get their leafy coat.

It's Saturday
On Saturdays groups of women descend on Edinburgh for hen night parties. They wear some pretty crazy clothes, this group being at the tamer end. Converted buses full of these individuals making as much noise as possible crawl the streets. Oh well, whatever you do for enjoyment.

Edinburgh Castle
Another iconic landmark. Contrasting Images from both summer and winter. The summer one from a warm summer evening and the winter one from the end of November 2010. The latter was the prelude to one of the coldest winters I've experienced in Scotland. This was just the beginning of a very cold spell with lots of snow.

Forth Rail Bridge
No photo-blog of Edinburgh would be complete without one of this world-iconic structure. You never get tired of looking at it.
